This policy explains how the FTNSS app, published by Afthonia LLC ("Afthonia," "we," "us"), handles your information. Our website has a separate policy.
What FTNSS stores, and where
Your timers, routines, workout history, interval heart rate and HRV readings are stored on your device. There is no FTNSS account, no sign-up, and no Afthonia server holding a copy. If you delete the app, that data goes with it — so use the export options below if you want to keep it.
Information FTNSS accesses on your device
FTNSS asks your permission before using any of these. iOS will prompt you, and you can change your mind at any time in Settings.
- Health data (Apple Health). With your permission FTNSS reads heart rate, heart-rate variability, sleep, resting heart rate, VO₂max and past workouts to power your readiness, trends and Apple Fitness import; and writes your interval workouts back so your Activity rings get credit. This exchange happens on your device, between FTNSS and Apple Health. We never receive it.
- Camera and flash — for a fingertip heart-rate reading. FTNSS can measure your heart-rate variability by reading colour changes through your fingertip held over the lens. It does not take photographs, record video, or store any images. The camera feed is processed live and discarded; only the resulting HRV number is kept.
- Bluetooth. To connect to a heart-rate strap or chest belt, if you use one. FTNSS talks to the strap directly.
- Location (GPS). Used during outdoor activities to measure distance and pace. It is recorded with that activity on your device. FTNSS does not track your location in the background and does not use it for anything else.
- Motion. Used for activity and movement measurement during workouts.
What we collect about you
Nothing. FTNSS contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash-reporting service and no third-party marketing SDKs. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share your personal information, because we never receive it in the first place.
When data leaves your device — and only then
FTNSS connects to exactly three places, each because you asked it to:
- Apple Health — on your device, under your Health permissions. Apple's terms apply to Health itself.
- Garmin. If you use the Garmin companion, your timer library syncs to your watch and finished runs come back. Activities recorded on the watch also save to Garmin Connect — your Garmin account, governed by Garmin's privacy policy.
- Strava. Optional. If you connect Strava, you sign in through Strava's own authorisation page — FTNSS never sees your Strava password — and the activities you choose to upload are sent to Strava, governed by Strava's privacy policy. You can disconnect at any time in Settings.
You can also export any activity as a standard .FIT file and send it wherever you like using the iOS share sheet. Where it goes after that is your choice, and that service's policy applies.
Your control
- Revoke any permission — Health, camera, location, Bluetooth, motion — in iOS Settings at any time. FTNSS keeps working; the features that need them simply stop.
- Disconnect Strava at any time in FTNSS Settings.
- Delete your data by deleting the app, or by removing individual workouts in the app. Data written to Apple Health is managed in the Health app; data sent to Garmin or Strava is managed in those services.
Children
FTNSS is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since FTNSS collects nothing, there is nothing for us to hold.
Changes to this policy
If FTNSS ever changes what it accesses or where data goes, we will update this policy and change the date above before that version ships.
